the ensouling

It moves in two directions, like breath.

Something is entering you — breath by breath,
taking the only shape it will ever take this way.

And something enters the world through you:
a place becomes ensouled through care.
A ritual ensouls an ordinary action.
A relationship, when you meet the person
and not your idea of them.

Received, and given. Inhale, exhale.

This is a place for encounters with the sacred,
without requiring certainty about what the sacred is.

Nothing here will ask you to believe.
Only to notice what is moving,
and to stay near it a little longer than usual.
