The Circle
A monthly practice in symbolic observation, temporal literacy, and shared attention.
The School teaches the literacies.
The Circle is where we practice them together.
Every month we pause long enough to ask:
Where are we now?
Not only in our own lives, but in the larger patterns unfolding around us.
The Circle is an orientation to the living moment.
Why Gather?
Human beings have always oriented themselves together.
Before calendars lived on our phones, they lived in the sky.
The Moon marked the month.
The seasons shaped the year.
The stars gave direction.
Communities gathered to notice the passage together.
We still live beneath the same sky.
The Circle is an invitation to recover that shared practice — not by returning to the past, but by becoming more conscious participants in the present.
The Nodal Passage
Our current inquiry is organized around the movement of the lunar nodes.
The nodes are not planets. They are the two points where the Moon’s orbit crosses the apparent path of the Sun — the places where eclipses become possible.
Because they mark crossings, they have long been understood as symbols of transition. They ask simple questions:
What way of being is losing its usefulness?
What new capacity is asking to be developed?
We use this shared passage as an orienting frame.
Not because it tells us what will happen.
Because it gives us a common place from which to begin observing.
